Liaison Officer Older Prisoners - HMP Leyhill

For most of Sues working life she has worked in or been involved in the prison service, becoming a prison officer in 1979. She has worked at Drake Hall, Bullwood Hall, Maidstone, and Holloway prisons. Sue was the Disability Liaison Officer/Older Prisoner Liaison Officer at HMP Leyhill from 2002 – 2008 and now concentrates on older prisoners. Sue has worked on local policies for the older/disabled prisoners and on the Older Prisoner Pathway published by the Dept of Health in 2008 and hold various health and social care qualifications.

Sue has been part of the Partnership Group since conception, working with Dr Stuart Ware on concept and assisting Liz Davis where necessary to make ACOOP the project it is today. Sue added “Many of the meetings I have attended in my own time as I knew the importance of this project within prisons”.
