Former older prisoner. Adviser to Department of Health and Ministry of Justice. Researcher on care services for older offenders. PhD University of Sheffield 2007. Convict criminologist and member of British Society of Criminology.

In 2004 RESTORE identified a major gap in care services for older people in prison and identified Age Concern as a possible service provider that could meet this need. Working with Age Concern Regional Support Services (ACRSS) SW Board Stuart was instrumental in ACOOPs concept and aided in the Project Manager recruitment process to appoint Liz Davis as ACOOP manager. Stuart said “since Liz’s appointment in 2007 I have continued to support ACOOP and assisted in its development of care programmes for older offenders in the South West.
